The New Character of the Turkish Gaming Ecosystem: Gamenter

Entertech Istanbul Teknokent game cluster Gamenter opened its doors with a ceremony held on 11.07.2023.



Dr. Muhammed Kasapoğlu, General Manager of Entertech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emek Barış Kepenek, Secretary General of the Turkish Game Developers Association (TOGED) and Sebahattin Akay, Founder of Roko Game made speeches at the opening ceremony of Gamenter. In his speech, Entertech General Manager Dr. Kasapoğlu gave examples from the global and Turkish gaming ecosystem and emphasized that 'Gamenter' will be a dynamic structure that provides access to all the resources needed by a game startup.

In his keynote speech, Turkey Game Developers Association (TOGED) Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emek Barış Kepenek drew attention to the importance of clusters and "Gamenter"-like structures in the Turkish gaming ecosystem.

Sebahattin Akay, founder of Roko Game, which has been operating within Entertech since 2020, explained the importance of being in a cluster for game startups and the advantages they will gain with "Gamenter" by referring to his own story and the difficulties he experienced. At the end of his speech, he stated that as Roko Game, they will always support "Gamenter" initiatives in terms of experience transfer.

After the opening speeches, Team V Games, Frosy Games, Visio-XR, Pax Animi Games and Beşinci Kural from "Gamenter" initiatives made their presentations. The presentations were followed with interest by the participants including Boğaziçi Ventures and Ludus VC.

"Gamenter" office, which attracts attention with its atmosphere and graffiti works, was opened with a ribbon cutting. The opening ceremony of "Gamenter", the new character of the ecosystem with its special support for game startups and inspiring atmosphere, was held with the participation of important stakeholders of the game ecosystem.

"Gamenter", which aims to create a living space where game startups are nourished by diversity and grow together, includes game developers as well as startups that produce assistive technologies for games.

"Gamenter" will continue to grow and make a name for itself with important events that will contribute to the overseas accelerator, pre-incubation and gaming ecosystem. For detailed information about Gamenter click here.
