Space-Software Technologies Hackathon was held

"Space-Software Technologies Hackathon" organized by New Senses Space Technology Health Research Inc. with the contributions of Entertech Istanbul Teknokent and Avcılar Municipality was held at Avcılar Municipality Applied Solution and Innovation Center (AVÇİM) on July 28-29-30.



The opening speeches of the event were made by Turan Hançerli, Mayor of Avcılar, Dr. Muhammed Kasapoğlu, General Manager of Entertech and Oğuzhan Aydemir, CEO of New Senses.

In his speech, Dr. Muhammed Kasapoğlu, General Manager of Entertech, stated that among the entrepreneurship centers in Istanbul, AVÇİM is one of the few centers where qualified programs are developed. Stating that 4 initiatives emerged at the Hackathon organized by Entertech for the first time with the theme of 'technologies that stand firm against earthquakes', Dr. Kasapoğlu said that 2 initiatives were incorporated thanks to the qualified 'Incubation Programs' offered at Entertech. Stating that AVÇİM adds value to the Hunters, he stated that being under the roof of Istanbul University and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa provides advantages to entrepreneurs. Dr. Kasapoğlu said, "Entertech, which provides end-to-end support to entrepreneurs, including bringing together stakeholders, incorporation, marketing, investment and customer finding processes, from the maturation of the business idea to finding investment and funding, is among the top 3 Technopolis in Istanbul." He said that AVÇİM is in an advantageous location for the entrepreneurship ecosystem and mentioned the diversity in terms of resource access.

Within the scope of the Hackathon organized with the theme of 'Together to Space', 8 teams interested in Space-Software technologies and aiming to produce ideas in this field; New Senses and Entertech provided training and mentorships on topics such as Project Concept and Writing, Innovation and Society 5.0, Artificial Intelligence, Backend and Mobile Software, Presentation Techniques.

Teams that developed innovative projects by producing solution proposals in the field of Space-Software technologies made a presentation to the jury at the end of the 48-hour marathon. As a result of the jury evaluation, 3 teams ranked first.

Winning projects are;

  • StellarMate Project - Artificial Intelligence Based Personal Voice Assistant for Astronauts
  • EyetoBrain - Artificial Intelligence Assisted Preliminary Diagnosis System with Human Eye Data
  • Space Sentinel - Asteroid Listening and Early Warning System

At the end of the hackathon, the winning teams were presented their awards at a ceremony. Cash prizes and special awards (employment, scholarship, cooperation, etc.) were presented to the winners.
