Turkish Technology Entrepreneurs Return from London with Investments
Three Turkish technology startups working in gaming technologies, clean energy, and sustainability solutions secured a total of one million dollars in international investment at London Tech Week.
Thirteen entrepreneurs accepted into Entertech Istanbul Teknokent’s “London Market Expansion” program—Turkey’s only technopark jointly established by two research universities, Istanbul University and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa—presented their business ideas at the Turkey Pavilion demo day, where they connected with investors.
During London Tech Week, Turkish startups focusing on clean energy and sustainability solutions, artificial intelligence and business technologies, smart infrastructure and digital twin technologies, educational technologies and digital interaction, smart logistics and operations, and gaming technologies took the stage. Following investor meetings, three firms in gaming, clean energy, and sustainability attracted one million dollars in investment.
“We aim to strengthen the position of startups in the European market”
Entertech Istanbul Teknokent General Manager Muhammed Kasapoğlu told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the primary expectation from London Tech Week was to ensure that Turkish startups gain visibility on the global stage, enabling them to connect directly with international investors, potential partners, and customers.
Kasapoğlu stated that they aim to develop strategic collaborations with the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the UK and strengthen the position of their supported startups in the European market. He added:
“From artificial intelligence to sustainability, and from fintech to health technologies, we aim to follow innovation and technology trends firsthand and update our entrepreneurship programs in Turkey on a global scale. London Tech Week, in this regard, is not only a showcase but also an important milestone for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and vision building.”
He underlined that international events provide multi-dimensional contributions to the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Kasapoğlu emphasized that such events allow entrepreneurs to promote their products and services on a global scale and directly reach international investors and business partners. He continued:
“These platforms, which have the potential to accelerate entrepreneurs’ processes of entering new markets, attracting investment, and scaling up, also strengthen ecosystem-level collaborations and contribute to the development of local programs. Moreover, success stories and innovative business models from different geographies inspire entrepreneurs and ecosystem stakeholders, paving the way for sustainable growth. We expect our entrepreneurs participating in the London Market Expansion program to receive significant feedback from investors following their meetings at the Turkey Pavilion.”
As part of the London Market Expansion program, the participating startups will continue their investor meetings throughout the week.
London Tech Week is hosting 33 companies and 150 representatives from Turkey, including four of Turkey’s largest technoparks. Turkish technology entrepreneurs aim to strengthen exports in information technologies and increase the global visibility of Turkey’s digital power.
