Entertech VCIF Led PhiTech’s 2.4 Million Dollar Investment Round

Entertech VCIF continues to strengthen its deep technology investments in the field of healthcare. PhiTech, which focuses on the diagnosis of rare diseases by bringing together genomics and artificial intelligence technologies, has completed its 2.4 million dollar investment round. The round was led by Entertech VCIF, established in cooperation between Entertech İstanbul Teknokent and Yapı Kredi Portföy.

With the investment round led by Entertech VCIF, established in cooperation between Entertech İstanbul Teknokent and Yapı Kredi Portföy, PhiTech increased its investment journey, which began with 500,000 dollars, to 2.4 million dollars in its third round.

Founded in 2013 by Dr. Saliha Durmuş, Prof. Dr. Tunahan Çakır, and Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Sevilgen, PhiTech offers faster and more accurate diagnostic processes, particularly in the fields of rare diseases and cancer, through its G&M (Genomics & More) platform, which analyzes DNA and RNA data together. Going beyond the traditional approach of genetic testing, which is limited to DNA data alone, this model strengthens clinical decision-making processes through multi-layered data analysis.

The technology developed by PhiTech provides critical infrastructure not only for diagnosis, but also for patient management and drug development processes for hospitals, genetic diagnostic laboratories, and pharmaceutical companies. In this way, it shortens the diagnostic journey for patients who have remained undiagnosed for years, while also contributing to making precision medicine applications more accessible.

PhiTech will use its new investment to scale its multi-layered artificial intelligence solutions developed for rare diseases in the market and to complete the R&D processes of its cancer-focused solutions. In this context, the company aims both to expand its clinical use cases and to accelerate its productization processes.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Kasapoğlu, General Manager of Entertech İstanbul Teknokent, made the following remarks regarding the investment:

“One of the most critical areas that will define the new era in health technologies is the combined use of genomic data and artificial intelligence. PhiTech’s multi-layered analysis approach has strong potential to transform diagnostic processes, especially in areas of high uncertainty such as rare diseases and cancer.”

“As a teknokent nourished by the long-established medical faculties of Istanbul University and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, we position deep specialization in healthcare as a strategic priority. We believe that this model, in which we bring academic knowledge together with entrepreneurship and investment mechanisms, plays a critical role in the emergence of high value-added solutions in healthcare.”

“As Entertech VCIF, we invest not only in startups that develop technology, but also in those that can transform that technology into solutions capable of creating global impact. We believe that this investment we have led in PhiTech will contribute to the wider adoption of precision medicine applications and strengthen Türkiye’s position in the field of deep technology.”

Müge Peker, General Manager of Yapı Kredi Portföy, stated the following:

“As Yapı Kredi Portföy, we prioritize standing alongside startups that generate high added value and have the potential to compete globally throughout their growth journeys. Through Entertech VCIF, we continue to contribute to our country’s technology ecosystem by investing particularly in startups developing innovative solutions in the fields of deep technology and healthcare. We believe that this investment will also contribute to the global scaling of PhiTech, which brings genomics and artificial intelligence together.”

“As Yapı Kredi Portföy, with the strength we derive from our innovative financial approach and robust digital infrastructure, we position our venture capital investments as a strategic area of growth. In line with this approach, by investing in the technologies of the future at an early stage, we aim both to create sustainable value for our investors and to advance Türkiye’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.”

With its systematic approach that prepares technology-based startups for investment processes and brings them together with the right investors, Entertech VCIF continues to support sustainable growth in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
